It’s official: During a presentation at CinemaCon yesterday, Sony Pictures announced that director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man reboot will be called SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Some think that it’s in reference to the story arc that shares the same name, but Sony Chairman Tom Rothman said it was in reference to the next movie taking place in High School. That’s right folks Peter Parker (Tom Holland) will be back in High School doing High School shenanigans and going through puberty.
Speaking of Tom Holland, he was present at CinemaCon showing some exclusive footage from the movie. Now I think the title Homecoming means that Spider-Man is back at home with Marvel and from the test footage it seems logical. Some of Marvel’s characters are going to be in the movie and with the footage Tom Holland bought, the clip featured Parker coming home to find his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) having a conversation with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. Crazy that we’re finally seeing this!!!
Sony also debuted the new logo seen here.
What do you think about the new logo and knowing some of Marvel’s biggest characters are in the movie? Find out when the movie comes out in theaters July 7, 2017
